chinese IX is an ongoing project from Euan Mclaughlin (zero icon, Mud Religion, Pepperland) and Mike Flynn (Flood, Mud Religion, Shooting With Annie.Euan & Flynn write, play, record and most of the stringed and keyed instruments - Thats Euans' voice most of the time, but Flynn's in there too . Tobin Hall is the live drummer and Mike Gregory & Jeff Gallo are guest bass players on several songs. Euan & Mike play bass too, 'cos it's just so much damn fun.Then writing under the name Songs & Souls, chinese IX released "The Vasari Sessions", a collection of 12 songs, recorded in Florida & St Louis over the course of 2008 to 20111, in October 2012 on limited edition CD (sold out now!) and available on Reverbnation for free download. The songs reflect Euans' changing perspective on song writing over a 15 year period - featuring REAL - written when Euan was 20 and in the heady madness of zero icon and brand new songs like INDEPENDENCE DAY.Currently Euan & Mike are working on a new album for itunes release winter 2015/16. Songs are being recorded in DC and at Saw Horse Studios in St Louis. Mixes for the first 4 songs were completed by Euan, Flynn & Jason MacEntire October 2015 and are posted for preview now.Thanks for listening - we do this 'cos we love it.
